Survivors include his wife, Alberta of Independence; his two daughters, Jane (Mark) Leonard of Independence and Christine (Donovan) Huffaker of Newton; five grandchildren, Kelsey Leonard, Daniel (Sarah) Leonard, Nathan Leonard, Emmeline and Zachariah Huffaker; one great-granddaughter, Kaileigh Leonard; and his brother, James of Marshaltown.
