Thomas J. Green, 62, of Cascade, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Friends and relatives of Tom may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, where a wake

service will be at 1:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Services for Tom will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade.

Tom was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Leo and Rosemary L. (Schulte) Green. He received his education in St. Mary's schools, and was a graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade. On Feb. 16, 1974, he was united in marriage to Ruth Hosch at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cascade. He was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works until his retirement in February.

He loved his children and grandchildren. He was often heard saying "grandchildren can do no wrong." He loved to travel and spend time with friends.

He was a member of St, Matthias Parish in Cascade, the Cascade Knights of Columbus Council 2001, the 4th Degree Dubourg Assembly Council No. 1573 and United Auto Workers Local No. 94.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Green of Cascade; two children, Abby (Erik) Archer of Cascade and Andrew (Rebecca) Green of Independence; six grandchildren, Maggie and Nathan Archer, Tayt, Morgan, Jordyn and Dylan Green; his father, Leo Green of Cascade; his two brothers, Mike (Edna) Green of Clive and Mark (Brenda) Green of North Liberty; his father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Marion Hosch of Cascade; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Karen and John Pearsall of San Diego, Calif., Ann and Mark Holmes of Dubuque and Carla and Ron Hoffmann of Cascade.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary L. Green, on June 25, 2011; and a brother-in-law, Michael Hosch.
