Thomas, Delores Julia
Delores Julia Thomas, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, in West Covina, Calif. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at United Methodist Church in Victor, Iowa. Burial will be at Genoa Bluff Cemetery near Ladora. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
Delores was united in marriage to Russell Thomas of Marengo, Iowa, in 1950 in Los Angeles, Calif. The couple moved back to Iowa and lived north of Des Moines until 1955 when they returned to California.
She is survived by her children, Gary, David, and Cindy; a brother, Arthur Pleis; two sisters-in-laws, Esther Thomas and Doris Pleis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell, who died in 1997.
