THERESA JUHL

Theresa Ann Juhl, 62, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Vinton and Center Point, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Theresa Ann Beggs was born Oct. 5, 1953, in Des Moines, to Francis and Donna (Johnston) Beggs. She lived with her family in Adel, Iowa, until the age of 11. At that time, the family moved to Vinton, where she completed her education, graduating from Washington High School in 1972. Theresa was a 1976 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, where she earned a bachelor's degree in special education.
On April 26, 1975, she was united in marriage with Charles Lee Juhl in Vinton, Iowa. Following their marriage, she and Chuck moved to Marshalltown, where she taught special education in the public school system. In April 1978, the couple moved to Vinton. She taught for a short time in the Vinton Elementary Schools, then taught special education for many years at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. She retired from teaching in 1988. Theresa also worked in the office and was co-owner of Benton County Title Co. in Vinton. She and Chuck moved to rural Center Point, where they lived until moving to Sioux Falls in 2013. She was living in Sioux Falls at the time of her death.
Theresa's goal in life was to live it for God and wished to share this with all she came in contact. Her desire was that all people she knew would be in heaven with her to celebrate their new lives. She loved God, family and friends, flowers and gardening, poetry, photography and anything she could find to recognize the beauty of God's handiwork.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 41 years, Chuck Juhl of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Elizabeth (Jason) Davis of Sioux Falls and Michelle (Dan) McCann of Vinton; one grandson, Ethan Davis of Sioux Falls; her mother, Donna Beggs of Brighton, Mich.; her brother, Bradley (Allison) Beggs of New Hudson, Mich.; and her uncle, Paul Johnston. She also is survived by extended family, including in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ in Cedar Rapids. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, S.D.
