Theresa Anne Chapel, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Graveside service: 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
Survivors include her children, Brett Chapel of Cedar Rapids and Stephanie (Brian) Helle of Cedar Rapids; grand-children, Aidan and Carson Helle of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Michael (Kathy) O'Brien of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Wilma) O'Brien of Marion, Daniel (Kathy) O'Brien of Seneca, Kan., Mary (Bob) Petersmith of Cedar Rapids, Shawn (Teresa) O'Brien and Dennis (Sheryl) O'Brien, all of Springville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Theresa was born May 24, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Dorrance and Dorothy (Gaffney) O'Brien. She graduated from Regis High School. Theresa was very dedicated to her career of 40 years at U.S Bank. She recently retired in July 2015.
Theresa loved spending time with her grand-children. She also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family and friends.
Theresa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Theresa's memory.
