Theresa Ann Johnson Boudreau, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Theresa was born Sept. 19, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fred and Darlene (Dalecky) Johnson. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School. She was united in marriage to Gary Merkel in Roswell, Ga. He died June 3, 1993. She married Bob Boudreau on Nov. 22, 2004, in Shellsburg.
Theresa lived and worked in Atlanta for over 17 years until returning to Iowa where she worked at The Eastern Iowa Airport. She enjoyed going to casinos, traveling and having a good time with friends. The time spent with her nieces and nephews and her granddaughter, Ellena, were moments she cherished.
Theresa is survived by her son, Justin Johnson of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Tim (Jill) Johnson of Shellsburg, Tina (Shawn) Lillie and Tammy Johnson, both of Shellsburg, and Trudy (Gerard) Wagner of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Ellena Johnson; her parents, Fred Johnson of Shellsburg and Darlene Johnson of Cedar Rapids; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; uncles; and her husband, Gary Merkel.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mercy Medical Center for their loving care for Theresa over the past few years.
