Theodore Schutt, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Nov. 12, 2021, at his daughter's home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with burial to follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service at the Cedar Memorial Family Center.
Theodore Roger Schutt was born March 28, 1926, in Mankato, Minn., the son of Sylvester and Esther (Anderson) Schutt. He served in the U.S. Navy from
1943-47. Ted was united in marriage to Charlotte Knapp on July 31, 1952. He worked at Collins Radio for 35 years. Ted and Charlotte did crafts and wedding cakes together. Ted built radio controlled vehicles and he also built a large train set. One of Ted and Charlotte's favorite things to do was to travel.
Survivors include his daughters, Pam (Bob) Kieper of Woodstock, Ill., Dixie (Moe) Kassem of Cedar Rapids and Connie Thompson of Westgate; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald; three sisters, Bonnie, Shirley and Betty; and son-in-law, Bill Thompson.
Memorial donations may be directed to Mercy Hospice.
