Thelma R. Perry, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Christ Community Church, 3000 Alburnett Rd., Marion, Iowa 52302, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place in Bruce, S.D., at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Thelma was born July 30, 1934, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of John and Bessie (Greene) Loeck. After high school, Thelma received her bachelor's degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids and later went on to earn her master's degree from the University of Iowa. On Aug. 27, 1957, Thelma was united in marriage to Dale Perry in Independence. She was very active in various ministries with Kenwood Park United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Conference. Thelma will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Ann (Richard) Grimm of Robins, Iowa, Patricia (Glenn) Prochaska of Cedar Rapids, Dale Aaron Perry II of Cedar Rapids and Peggi (Travis) Knight of Slater, Iowa; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Jo Scott of Independence.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dale, in 2004.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kenwood United Methodist Church.
