Thelma Jane (Prosser) Dorsey, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Marion, died at Anamosa Care Center on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. There will be no services. She will be inurned at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Assisting with arrangements is Iowa Cremation.
Survivors include her children, Herbert L. Dorsey Jr. and wife Kathy of Nebraska, Elizabeth (Darwin) Coleman of Anamosa, Ruth Hart of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, and Eden (Mark) Mason of Traer. She is also survived by her two nieces, twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold and Everett Prosser and their wives, nephews, and her son-in-law, Terry Hart.
Thelma Jane was born March 10, 1928, in Waterloo, Iowa to Albert C. and Nettie L. (Blydenburgh) Prosser. She married Herbert L. Dorsey on September 30, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed recording family history, compiling cemetery lists, and puzzles.
The family would like to thank the staff of Anamosa Care Center for the love and care given to Thelma.
