Thelma "Skip" Donohoe, 91, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Jan. 12, 2015, peacefully in her sleep after a bout with congestive heart failure.
Skip was born Oct. 30, 1923. She graduated from Marengo High School.
Skip worked as a customer service agent at a local realty company. A loving person with a great sense of humor, she spent her entire life as a compassionate caregiver to homeless people and animals. She enjoyed watching TV and quiet evenings at home with her daughter and best friend, Pat Ogden.
Skip was preceded in death by her former spouses, Vince Perry and David "Red" Donohoe; her close companion, Ralph "Howdy" Roberts; her parents, Rutheford "Snap" and Dorothy Share; and her siblings, Fred Share and Corine Ogden.
Skip is survived by her daughter, Pat; her close friends, Susie Jones and Tamy Jones; her grandchildren, Michelle Ogden (and Todd Quaas), Rick (and Saifon) Ogden and Barb (and Donnie) Hennings; her seven great- and two great-great-grandkids; several nieces and nephews she loved as her own; and the rest of her family and friends.
An upcoming celebration of Skip's life will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations for final expenses may be sent to Skip's former address in care of Patricia Ogden, 1215 Fifth Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
Finally, Skip's family wishes to thank the entire staff at St. Luke's Living Center West for their loving care during her long illness.
