Roger T. Goodson, 84, of Cedar Rapids, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, surrounded by his family. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Brosh Chapel and the Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the chapel and an hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Roger was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Akron, Ohio. He began a lifetime of ministry at the age of 15 and served in numerous places for over 60 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Norma; children, Becky (Bill) Konigsmark, MaryLynn (Terry) Christopher, Dan (Elissa) Goodson and Michael (Christina) Goodson; daughter-in-law, Pat Goodson; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steve.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and I have remained faithful."
