Tharp, Gladys
Gladys Tharp, 99, of Elk Horn, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids.
Gladys Genevieve Tharp was born May 25, 1911, in Anamosa, to Jake and Minnie Streeter. She was a graduate of Penn College in Oskaloosa.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen K. Thompson of Harlan; stepsons, Richard Tharp of Cedar Rapids, and Ronald Tharp of Boone, N.C.; and a sister, LaVonne Carlson of Moberly, Mo.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Donovan Tharp; and her parents, Jake and Minnie Streeter.
