Teslik, Edward LeRoy
Edward LeRoy Teslik, 74, of Keller, Texas, formerly of Swisher and Cedar Rapids, died Nov. 24, 2010, of a sudden illness in Fort Worth, Texas. Graveside services for family and friends will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Riverside Cemetery (Tulip Avenue and Palm Street) in Riverside. Father Rich Adam, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside, will preside. Following the graveside service, a potluck dinner will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 11 East Third St., Riverside, where the Teslik Family Reunion will take place.
Survivors include his wife, Della Cota Teslik; children, Robert Anthony “Tony” Teslik and wife Diane, Patricia Denise “Patty” Garay, Theresa Annette “Terri” Yancey and husband Bill and Edward LeRoy “Ed” Teslik Jr. and wife Christy; brothers, David P. Teslik, Joseph (Becky) Teslik and Dean (Dorothy) Teslik; sisters, Joyce Wingler and Theresa (Dean) Culberson; seven grandsons, Chad, Ryan and Shane Teslik, Carlos and Nathan Garay, Matthew and Stephen Teslik; two granddaughters, Peyton (Logan) Satterwhite and Madison Yancey; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mina Teslik; sisters, Rita Teslik and Mary Collingwood; and brother-in-law, Clayt Wingler.
Born July 9, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, he attended Shueyville High School and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Navy and Reserves. He was a certified welder and worked in manufacturing.
Ed was a man of few words, loved his dog, his family, fishing, and picking up pecans in Granbury, Texas.
