Terry Marvin McGahuey, age 72 of Ladora, passed away April 29, 2024 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Service: 10 A.M. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with the family present from 5 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Terry.
Terry was born March 4, 1952, in Leon, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Rosemary Warner McGahuey. He graduated from HLV Community School in 1970. He and Barbara McGuire were united in marriage on July 31, 1971. To this union two daughters were born, Jennifer and Jessica. The couple made their lifelong home in Ladora.
Terry worked at Amana Refrigeration, HON Corporation, and NIS Corporation, from where he retired, for the final time. He enjoyed time with the family having meals, which were filled with lots of stories and laughter. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing with friends and visiting casinos with his wife Barb. He relished in his grandchildren’s accomplishments.
Terry is survived by his wife Barb of 52 years; his daughters, Jennifer Schnebbe, and Jessica (Ben) Van Waus, both of Victor; his grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Schnebbe, Owen, Olivia and Aiden Van Waus, all of Victor; a sister Colleen (Gary) DeMeulenaere of Belle Plaine, and a sister-in-law Pat Fry of Smyrna, TN. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Connie Tellier, and a son-in-law Brian Schnebbe.
