Terry Brian Tucker, 71, of Marion, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 while on a walk near his home. Terry was part of the Iowa Donor Network and cremation arrangements were with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City.

A funeral service will begin at 11 am on Saturday, July 27 at Marion Free Methodist Church, 2690 25th Ave., Marion, with visitation two hours prior to the service.

Terry was born on May 5, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of I.L. “Tommy” Tucker and LaVerne (Swanson) Tucker. He graduated from Erskine Elementary, Franklin Junior High, George Washington Senior High School (Class of 1973) and attended the University of Iowa, Kirkwood Community College and Drake University. When Terry retired, he moved back to Marion in April 2023, after a brief move to Delhi, becoming the fourth generation of his family to live there.

While in college, he took a summer Greyhound trip across America. After college, Terry was a Realtor, briefly with Tommy Tucker Realty Co. in Cedar Rapids, returning to Tucker Manufacturing Co., where he and his older sister worked in their youth in the family business. He returned to the Iowa City area in 2000, and worked 14 years for Hardees, along with other jobs.

He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes football fan. Terry loved music at church over the years and over air with Life 101.9 FM.

Terry is survived by his brother Robin Tucker (Carole) of Cedar Rapids; four nieces, Cheryl, Eileen and Julie Tucker and Jennifer Crawley; brother in-law Chester Crawley of Tucson, AZ; long- time friend Shirley Anderson of Washington; friends and extended family.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Lee “Tommy” Tucker; mother, LaVerne Tucker; his sister, Marcia Crawley; maternal grandparents, Verne and Bertha Swanson and paternal grandparents, Irvin Lester “Irv” and Iva Mae Tucker.
