Terri Shakespeare
TERRI LYNN SHAKESPEARE
Vinton
Terri Lynn Shakespeare, 54, of Vinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 29, 2017, in hospice care at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Terri's home in Vinton.
Terri was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Jan. 17, 1963, the sixth child born to Jay and Jean Wallander. They saved the best for last. Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Alan (Jamie) Shakespeare of New Hartford, Daniel Shakespeare (Jess Rummelhart) of Shellsburg, Chrissy (Greg) Degroot of Cedar Rapids and Elijah Lint of Vinton, who were her world and proudest accomplishments. She had a great adoration for her grandchildren, Alexis Rummelhart, Ava Shakespeare, Jaxon Shakespeare, Chloe Degroot, Jayce Shakespeare, Carson Shakespeare and Avery Shakespeare, who were her inspiration and motivation in her battle against cancer. She fought very hard for them.
She also is survived by her awesome and much older siblings, Tom (Nancy) Wallander and Lori (Les) Schirm; many nieces and nephews; and several dear friends.
She cherished all who were there to share in her charm, wit and undying love. She was a caring friend, true and loyal.
She wanted everyone to remember: "Do your best, follow your dreams, make amazing memories and always keep smiling and laughing."
She wanted to thank her family and friends for the great memories, the laughter, and for being there for
her during her battle against cancer.
She also wants everyone, instead of mourning her death, to celebrate and be happy for the time she was able to spend on this earth with each and every one of her family and friends. She hopes you will join her family for cookies and coffee to celebrate her lifetime accomplishments and laugh at her pictures.
Cancer took a lot from her, but it would never take her sense of humor.
