Terri Lynn Nicol, 61, of Solon, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Solon Nursing Care Center. Celebration of Life services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Solon United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located
at 100 S. Cedar St.
Terri was born March 2, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William C. and Patricia L. (Hughes) Stodola. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School, Class of 1974. Terri received an associate degree in neuro diagnostics from Kirkwood Community College and a massage therapy degree from Carlson College of Massage Therapy. She was united in marriage to Scott Nicol on March 25, 1997, in Hawaii. Terri worked as an electro-neuro diagnostic technologist in West Palm Beach, Fla., a pharmacy tech for a number of pharmacies and as a vision/hearing screener with Grant Wood Area Education. She was the owner and operator of Main Street Massage in Solon for many years.
Terri was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and Solon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed home decorating, her dogs, traveling, hiking, snow skiing, boating, bicycling and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Terri is survived by her husband, Scott; her sons, Luke Poeschl of Iowa City and Tony (Lisa) Nicol of Solon; her daughter, Shari Miller of Mount Vernon; her father, Bill of Johnston; grandchildren, Nicolas (Amanda) Thorp, Emilee Miller, Matthew Miller, Makiah Miller, Payton Nicol and Sophie Nicol; two
great-grandchildren, Kellen Thorp and Reece Thorp; her brother, Mike (Kathy) Stodola of Johnston; and her nephews, Eric, Marc and Scot Stodola.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents.
Memorials may be directed to either Solon United Methodist Church, Solon Retirement Village or the Alzheimer's Association.
