Terri K. Cole-Walters, 68,
of Marion, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family at 4 p.m. March 5, at The Church on Northland, 5200 Northland Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is assisting the family.
Terri was born April 11, 1953, in Escanaba, Mich., the daughter of Peter and Veryl (Bovin) DeMenter. She graduated from Gladstone High School, Class of 1971. Terri went on to attend Bay de Noc College in Escanaba. She was united in marriage to Patrick D. Cole on May 12, 1973, in Gladstone, Mich. Pat died in 2018. Terri worked for the Linn-Mar School District as a secretary, until her retirement in 2015. She was a member of The Church on Northland. On Aug. 23, 2020, Terri was united in marriage to Dennis Walters in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Her life was her family and friends, she will be missed by those who love her.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Walters of Marion; children, Wendy (Tony) Riedl of Tipton, Iowa, and Danny (Jessica) Cole of Ankeny, Iowa; four grandchildren, Travis and Corey Riedl, James and Layla Cole; stepchildren, Seth (Reba) Walters of Dubuque, Iowa, Luke Walters of Marion and Thaddeus Walters (Anna Yeagle) of Cedar Rapids; stepgrandchildren, London, Kayson, Kennedy, Kayden and Brooklyn; and brother, Peter (Jan) DeMenter of Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Veryl DeMenter; first husband, Pat Cole; infant son, David Cole; and stepgranddaughter, Harper Walters.
