TERRANCE "TERRY" SPURGEON

Terrance "Terry" Spurgeon, 52, died peacefully Sunday, March 28, 2021, at home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Terry's name.
Terry was born May 28, 1968, in Iowa City, the son of Tom and Jean (Ryan) Spurgeon. He was a 1986 graduate of Regina High School and attended Iowa State University.
Terry worked in parking services for the city of Iowa City for over 20 years, retiring early due to his health. He loved the outdoors and time spent fishing and hunting. He had been involved in the Morse Fireworks display.
Special thanks to Joann, Lenny, Deanna, Tim (Suzanne), Regina (Dave), Nick and Kendra for their care and support in helping make Terry's last journey possible.
Terry is survived by his mother, Jean; his sisters, Laura (Shawn "Jack") Noble and children, Owyn and Zoee, and Sarah (Lance) Thomas and children, Alex and McKenzie Knebel, all of Iowa City; his uncles, Danny and Mike (Barb) Ryan and Tom Hoyer; numerous extended family members including, Jean, Dale and Linda; and too many cousins to count.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Tom; grandparents, Mike and Viola Ryan and Edna Spurgeon; his aunt, Mary Hoyer and uncles, Pat and Denny Ryan; and Keith Spurgeon and Ginger.
