TERESA MALLOY FULLER
Cedar Rapids
Teresa Malloy Fuller, 65, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, where there will be a 5 p.m. Celebration of Life service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Teresa was born Jan. 9, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the seventh child of Gerald and Dolores (Donohoe) Malloy. She graduated from Cedar Rapids LaSalle, class of 1974, and later from Regis College in 1978. Teresa was united in marriage to Charles "Bud" Fuller on June 2, 1984, in Casa Grande, Ariz. Teresa was known for her love of family, Irish heritage and loyalty to her husband Bud. Her sisters held such a special place in her heart, and you could typically find them huddled together laughing and conspiring in their secret language that no one else understood. There were only two official holidays on Teresa's Calendar, St. Patricks Day and Malloy Christmas. She took pride in her 40-plus years hospitality career at Sodexho, where she had the pleasure of running food services at St. Ambrose University and on many military bases. She was always the Hostess with the Mostest – serving the most delicious food to everyone but hardly ever eating any herself. "Aunt T's" superpower was her ability to make everyone around her feel special and important. The family would joke that she independently kept The Hersey Company in business with her "candy" treats to all the children in her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than sharing family tales with a Natural Light in her hand and ending with her distinctive laugh. As the night progressed, she often lost the concept of personal space and would typically end the conversation with a kiss on the lips … even if she just met you. We are certain she is in heaven raising her natty light with a "SLAINTE" (the Irish word for "CHEERS") to all of us!
Teresa is survived by her siblings, Eugene (Marge) Malloy of Lisle, Illinois, Kevin ( Pam) Malloy of Cedar Rapids, Pam Miller of Cedar Rapids, Denise (Steve) Leas of Fairfax, Daniel (Nanette) Malloy of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Anthony (Rebecca) Malloy of Riverside, Ill.; her in-laws, Connie (John) Ross of Athem, Ariz., Carol (Jake) Buchnell of Tampa, Fla., and Ron (Yosh) Fuller of Chula Vista, Calif.; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, Frances Malloy, Louise Behling, Thomas Malloy and Lawrence Malloy; her brothers-in-law, John Ross and Jack Buchnell; and her nephews, Joey Fuller and Isaac Malloy.
