Teply, Wilma
Wilma Teply, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died April 14, 2013, at West Ridge Care Center following an extended illness. Per Wilma's request she was cremated. A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Surviving are a daughter, Rita (Dennis) Best of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Tammi (Bill) Heaton of Cedar Rapids and Kelly Best of Gilbert, Ariz,; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Cody Heaton; and a sister, Blanch Knott of Gowrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; a son, Robert; and two sisters, Betty Condon and Libby Marginean.
Wilma was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Polansky) Trachta. She was united in marriage to Charles Teply on Aug. 29, 1941, in Missouri. Wilma enjoyed gardening, painting, animals, and crocheting.
Above all, her greatest enjoyment was that of being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu in flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice and the Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.
