Tellier, Winston M.
Winston M. Tellier, 91, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at First Congregational Church, by the Rev. Bob David. Because of Winston's love of the color red, the family requests that those attending the memorial service wear something red. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Marilyn) Tellier of Houston, Texas and Marna (David) Rehage of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Annie Rehage of Boston; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Anna Margaret Schultz; and a brother, Burdeen Mavis.
Winston was born Jan. 7, 1920, the daughter of August and Maude (Porter) Mavis in Fayette, Iowa. On Feb. 5, 1944, she married G. Howard “Bud” Tellier in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1988.
Winston was a member of First Congregational Church and Tuesday Study Club. She was an avid reader and loved knitting. One of her biggest joys in life was vacationing in Estes Park, Colo.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Meth-Wick Woodlands staff and Mercy Medical Center staff.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous, Indian Creek Nature Center, Cedar Valley Humane Society, or First Congregational Church.
