Tedrow, Michael Joseph
Michael Joseph Tedrow, 64 of rural Auxvasse, Mo., passed away at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home. There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Callaway Christian Church in Fulton, Mo., with Mark Kummer officiating. Military honors will follow the service at the church.
Michael was born Nov. 29, 1947, to Lucian and Margaret Tedrow in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids in 1966. He attended welding school before entering the Air Force in 1967 and spent four years in the United States Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Neb. where he met his wife, Marilyn Kaye Littrell of Mexico, Mo. They were married Oct. 17, 1970. in Walford, Iowa. After a six-year service break, he enlisted in the Army in 1977 where he was trained as a licensed practical nurse. He was stationed in Missouri, Texas, Germany and Washington, D.C., before retiring in 1993. He moved to Missouri in 1993, where he worked as a licensed practical nurse until his retirement in 2009.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one daughter, Shannon (Mike) Philipsheck of Lees Summit, Mo.; a son, Shawn Tedrow of Independence, Mo.; two grandsons, Aiden and Masen Finlan of Lees Summit; two stepgrandchildren, Austin and Chesnea Philipsheck; one brother, Lucian Tedrow of Swisher; and six sisters-in-law, Pamela Tedrow of Walford, Gloria Tedrow of Cedar Rapids, Rose Marie Williams of Ballwin, Mo., Linda Stuart of Vandalia, Mo., Alma (Larry) Swon and Donnis Littrell, both of Mexico, Mo.
He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Tedrow was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James and John Tedrow, both of Cedar Rapids; and an infant sister, Marcene Joanne Tedrow.
He was an avid bowler, golfer and spent many hours hunting with his brother-in-law, Larry Swon of Mexico, Mo. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Callaway Christian Church Adoption Fund or the Audrain County Home Health and Hospice. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
