Teach, Carolyn M. Vyskocil
Carolyn M. Vyskocil Teach, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 19, 2012, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, by the Rev. William Harnish. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the chapel. Entombment: Sisley Grove Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard; four daughters: Terri Vyskocil, Cedar Rapids; Kerri Jared, Fishers, Ind.; Julia Vyskocil, Cedar Rapids; and Jill (Steve) Baker, Argyle, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jeromie Jared, Stephany Walters, Tiffany Morris, L.J. Mims, Christina Mims, Bobbi Mims, Danielle Baker and Stephen Baker II; five great-grandchildren, A.J., Breonna, Makhi, Camren and Izaya; a sister and six brothers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents, Darwin and Ruth (Leeper) Allen; and a sister, Alice Jean Hall.
Carolyn was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Centerville. She married Richard W. Vyskocil on Sept. 9, 1961, in Cedar Rapids; he died April 15, 1980. Carolyn married Richard L. Teach on Aug. 3, 1983, in Dallas, Texas. Carolyn moved from Cedar Rapids to Dallas in November 1982 and she and Richard returned to Cedar Rapids in November 2007.
Carolyn was a member of the American Business Women's Association and a former member of Lodge Hawkeye 423 WFLA. She loved flower gardening, raising tomatoes and bowling.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
