Taylor, Mark M.
Mark M. Taylor, 46, of Toddville, and a lifelong resident of Linn County, died Friday, July 24, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m., Wednesday, at First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Darran Whiting. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his parents; sister, Shelly (Joe) McVay of Cedar Rapids; and one niece, Morgan.
Born October 21, 1962, in Robins, Mark was the son of Richard and Janice (Hefti) Taylor. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School and received a BA from both Coe College and Mount Mercy College. Mark received his master's degree from the University of Alabama. He was a deputy with the Linn County Sheriffs Department for 23 years.
Mark was a member of the Mt Hermon Lodge #263 A.F.&A.M., the Cedar Rapids Consistory and had been an Eagle Scout.
Memorials may be made in Mark's memory to the American Cancer Society, 4080 1st Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
