Betty G. Taylor, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Northbrook Manor Care, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Arnold. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Tracey) Taylor, Trina (Bruce) Weeks, Jane Taylor, Marie (Allen) Steen and Linda Taylor; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild due in April; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Clawson of Lenexa, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Icle Henderson; husband, Charles Jr.; three children, Diana, Bonnie and Charles; and sister, Faye Gibbs.

Betty was born June 27, 1924, in Trenton, Mo. She married Charles Taylor Jr. on Aug. 17, 1942. He passed away in 1978. Betty was a homemaker for several years and also cleaned others homes. She worked for Midwest Janitorial at Firstar Bank for 18 years.

She enjoyed various activities including bingo, garage sales, traveling, shopping, checking out Christmas lights around town and dressing up at Halloween. Betty was known as the “Candy Lady” at Milestones Adult Day Health Center because she always brought candy to share. She always thought of others before herself. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
