Taylor, Bertha Ellen
ertha Ellen Taylor, 97, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4150 Blue Jay Dr. NE. Graveside service: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bertha Ellen Taylor was born Aug. 11, 1915, to Harry and Sadie Floyd Price in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to C. Eugene Taylor on Dec. 17, 1946. He passed away on 1998. Bertha worked for Collins Radio for 27 years. She groomed poodles for many years.
Bertha was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Linn County Fish and Game Club. She was a member of the Daniels Park Church of God for many years and was recently baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Elson of Omaha, Neb., Jeffrey (Julie) Taylor of Watertown, Mass., and Doreen (Doug) Kidd of Port Orange, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Joan Augustine of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many foster children.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Darrell Augustine; and a brother, Kenneth Price.
