Tanya Lynn Steggall, 71, of Solon, Iowa, died Friday, March 19, 2021, at her home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Tanya, under "photos and videos or media," starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 23.
Tanya was born on Oct. 1, 1949, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Marilyn (Hotz) Lyon. She graduated from Olin Consolidated High School. Tanya was united in marriage to Danny Steggall on April 28, 1990, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked at Quaker Oats, until her retirement in 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Danny L. Steggall of Solon; daughter, Theresa (Frank) Ross of Greeley, Iowa; son, Chris (Kris) Heyer of Benton, Ark.; daughter, Laura Beth (Scott) Huett of Jacksonville, Ark.; four-legged son, Billybob of Solon; stepdaughters, Brenda Huber and Julie (Duane) Farner of Andover, Kan.; uncle, William Lyon of Jacksonville, Ark.; six grandchildren, Terry (Darcy) Ellis, Austin (Paige) Ellis, Alison Crossman, Shelby Heyer, Jayden Heyer and Sara Carmical; six great-grandchildren, Eben, Owen, Harper, Rylie, Hadley and Hudson; two sisters, Penny (Brian) Maul and Kandy Jo (Allan) Worthen; two brothers, Dan (Michal Ann) Lyon and Mark (Sue) Lyon; sister-in-law, Sam Steggall; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lyon; mother, Marilyn Lyon; in-laws, Robert and Rose Steggall; and nephew, Adam Lyon.
