Tammy Lynn Russell, 61, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, after a fight with heart disease. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tammy was born in Bryan, Ohio, on June 29, 1960. She studied at the University of Toledo with a major in mathematics. She worked for Boeing in Wichita, Kan. She adopted her younger sister Julie when she was seven years old. She was raised Lutheran and was a Christian her entire life. She had four children as well- Jennifer Adele, Suzanne Elaine, Clarissa Francine and Kyle Trenton. Tammy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved cats including her pet cat Buttercup, loved to laugh, loved music and was very giving to those in her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Cooley; her father, Larry Cooley; and her brother, Michael Cooley.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Russell, Suzy (David Smith) Russell, Clarissa (Chris Heffner) Russell and Kyle (Sarah) Russell; her grandchildren, Stella Carlin, Luca Carlin, Hunter Harris, Hayden Russell and Mason Russell; her sister, Julie (John) Powell; her nephew, Brandon Cooley; her aunt, Barb (Paul) Wieten; and her former spouse, John (Lorrie) Russell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
