Talbot A. "Bill" Williams, 76, of Iowa City, formerly of rural Solon, died at his home surrounded by his family Friday, March 19, 2021.
Talbot Adams Williams, III "Bill" was born in Hope, Ark., and lived in Luling, La., until his family moved to Muscatine, Iowa, in 1961. He is a graduate of Muscatine High School, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa.
In 1968, he married Janet Day of Muscatine. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was media coordinator at St. Luke's Hospital, and sales manager at Pratt Audiovisual Co in Cedar Rapids. An avid golfer, Bill enjoyed multiple golf outings with his golfing friends. He loved to travel and made friends wherever he went. He was enormously proud of his family.
His family includes his wife, Janet; daughters, Elizabeth and Laura, her husband, Jef and grandchildren, Ryan, Aiden and Noah; son, Paul his wife Tracy and grandchildren, Alex, Brady and Chelsea; and sister-in-law, Linda Williams.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, T.A. Williams Jr. and Marie Williams; and brother, Kenneth Williams.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Congregational United Church of Christ in Iowa City and the University of Iowa Center for Advancement.
