Tadeusz "Ted" Stachow, 78, of Springville, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Private family burial will take place at Springville Cemetery.
Ted was born June 6, 1939, in Lwow, Poland, the son of Piotr and Maria (Cipa) Stachow. He graduated from Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering degree. On Oct. 1, 1973, he was united in marriage to Cathy Bollinger in Chicago. Ted retired from Evergreen Packaging as a quality control manager. He enjoyed the time he spent as a soccer coach for Cornell College as well as the Cedar Rapids Comets Soccer Club. Ted enjoyed birdwatching and spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; his children, Pete (Rochelle) Stachow of Whitewater, Wis., Lara (Kim) Stachow of Largo, Fla., and Patrick Cleary of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Haylee and Rylee Stachow of Whitewater.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, sister and two brothers.
