Sylvia Padzensky was born July 7, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Braverman Polisky. Edward and Sylvia were married on Nov. 24, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Their love affair lasted more than 50 years and Ed had Sylvia on a pedestal the entire time.
Together Ed and Sylvia built a wonderful life and enjoyed raising their family, traveling and spending time with good friends. Although Sylvia endured many tragedies in her life, she always appreciated her gifts, often telling people how "lucky" she was. Sylvia was loved by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to Sylvia's apartment, 130 Thompson Dr. SE, following the service. The family will be sitting shiva starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evening at this location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edward & Sylvia Padzensky Youth Scholarship Fund at Temple Judah.
