Swift, Ruth
Ruth Swift, 97, of Stanwood, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Heritage Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids.
Graveside services: Stanwood Cemetery, Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, 11 a.m. with Pastor Phil Leipold officiating.
Ruth was born to Harry and Flora (Heitkamp) Poston on Nov. 20, 1911, in Nodaway.
Ruth married John Swift on Feb. 27,1938, in Tipton. He died in 1972.
She was a retired bookkeeper, having worked at Stanwood Lumber Co. She was a member of Stanwood Union Church and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include nephews: Steven and David Poston; niece Marcia Poston; great-niece Amy Bergan; great-nephew Grant Poston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers James, Richard and Wallace.
