Swayze, Eddie Lee
Eddie Lee Swayze, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held in Natchez, Miss., at his request.
Eddie is survived by two children, Antoine Mearday and Lakeitha RaShawn Luster; two grandchildren; three brothers, Riley (Clara) Swayze of Cedar Rapids, Louis Swazye and Fird (Laura) Swazy of Natchez, Miss.; eight sisters, Mamie Washington, Doris Holmes, Cassie Elery, Shirley Elery, Georgia (Milton) Dobbins, all of Natchez, Miss., Bimkubwa (Clyde) Davis, Dazie Swayze and Sarah (Darel) Swayze of Cedar Rapids; and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Hall Swayze and Clarence Swayze.
Eddie was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Natchez, Miss. He was employed by Quaker Oats Company. He loved fishing, playing pool, music and celebrating life with his friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
