Suzanne Lynn Pollard, 64, of Marion, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at her home. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at First United Methodist Church, Marion, by Pastor Mike Morgan. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the service Saturday at the church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Tom; her children, Melissa (Tim) Lewis, Stacie (Steve) Barske and Dustin Pollard, all of Marion; four grandchildren, Allison and Hailey Lewis and Kayla and Peyton Barske; father, Marvin Ellwood; and brother, Jay Ellwood.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Ellwood; two aunts; and her grandparents.
Suzanne was born Aug. 22, 1949, in Anamosa, the daughter of Marvin and Lois (Burnside) Ellwood. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1967, and married Tom Pollard at the First United Methodist Church in Marion on May 1, 1976. Suzanne worked with Iowa National for 18 years, and later with Caring Corner Daycare for 16 years. She had attended FUMC in Marion since 1959, and was a member of United Methodist Women. Suzanne was a Campfire leader for many years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, camping and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
