Suzanne "Sue" M.
Leonard, 58, of Robins, Iowa, formerly of Tama, passed away peacefully at home Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Dennis Juhl.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; children, Jeni (Darrin) O'Brien and Earl James (Amber) Pierce IV; grandchildren, Ashley, Chloe, Emma, Aidan and Kiley; and siblings, Patrice Bartling, Dan (Tina) Hess, Cate McLearnon, David Hess, Megan Towry and Amy (Bruce) James.
Also surviving is the Leonard family; many nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
Born Oct. 9, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, Sue was the daughter of Dr. John and Peggy (Hobart) Hess. Sue Hess was united in marriage to Michael Leonard.
Sue's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very generous and caring and was truly the family matriarch. Sue loved her dogs, Lexi and Lacy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sue's memory.
