SUSAN WESCOTT
Marion
Susan "Sue" M. Wescott, 67, of Marion, passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. She put up a strong fight and lost the battle with cancer. Per her wishes, Susan has been
cremated.
Susan was born Oct. 31, 1946, the daughter of Janet and Otis Coy Jr. She spent some of her child life in Dundee and Waterloo, and later moved to Cedar Rapids. She married Jim Wescott in 1963 and had four children.
She was a homemaker most of her life until her
interest led her to cleaning homes outside her own. She enjoyed cooking and always had the recipe for something if you asked for it. She was also a huge
Denver Broncos fan. Sue loved to get in the car and go shopping. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Susan is survived by her fiance, Dean Hunter; father, Otis Coy Jr. of Murrieta, Calif.; sister, Sally Ives of Champlin, Minn.; daughter, Kim (Zeke) Richter of Cedar Rapids; son, Kip (Jen) Wescott of Cedar Rapids; son, Kenny Wescott of Center Point; son, Kris (Cindy) Wescott of Kansas City, Mo.; stepdaughter, Stacie (Ron) Fischer of Waldorf, Minn.; and stepson, Josh Hunter. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Coy.
The family would like to thank physicians, nurses and staff at PCI for their love, kindness and support and a special thanks to the hospice staff. The family would also like to especially thank Dee Tope for all her loving help.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family inurnment burial will be at a later date.
