Susan “Sue” Kimball of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her family. Memorial services for Sue will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 19 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 18, at the church.
Susan Lynn Kimball was born August 28, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Gerald and Irene Oellrich. Sue attended Springville Community Elementary and Junior High, graduating from Alburnett High School in 1971.
Sue attended the University of Northern Iowa where she met the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Kimball in 1971. They were married on May 31, 1975 in Lutheran Church in Center Point, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Crystal and Shawn.
Susan is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Crystal Rawlins, Shawn (Alicia) Kimball; granddaughters, Cora Rawlins, Adeline Kimball; siblings, Sally (Don) Reid, Aloha, Oregon, Sandy (Larry) Germaine, Center Point, Iowa, Sherry Christensen, Greeley, Colorado, Sylvia Oellrich, Anna, Texas, Tricia (Denny) Spear, Toddville, Iowa, Steven (Holly) Oellrich, Toddville, Iowa; 13 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and -nephews; as well as many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Irene Oellrich; parents-in-law, Ed and Ruth Kimball; sister-in-law, Marcia Schuette; brother-in-law, John Kimball.
