SUSAN "SUE" DETERT

Susan "Sue" Detert, 65, of Marion, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Antioch Christian Church, Marion. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion.
Survivors include her children, Heather (James) Stivers and Russell Detert (Kelly Knepper); grandchildren, Bryce, Ashton, Shelby, Hanna, Lily, Logan, Reese and Hunter; sisters, Lisa (Kevin) Ciha and Vicki Bumbarger; three nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and many extended family members, friends and colleagues.
Susan Denise Bumbarger was born March 23, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, to Russell and Judith (Andrews) Bumbarger. She was a longtime resident of Marion. Sue worked for CCB Packaging for over 20 years, earning several awards for her dedication. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading Sci-Fi and fantasy books, tending to her flower garden, especially the lollipop lilies, crafts including needlepoint and cross stitch, relaxing after a hard-working week and cooking chicken tinga with friends who she enjoyed having long chats with. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dustin.
