Susan “Sue” D. Michel, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 1:30 pm to 4 pm at the Fairfax Community Room, 300 80th Street Court, Fairfax, Iowa.

Susan Denice Michel was born on February 4,

1953 to William and Anna

(Dykhuizen) Wright in Cedar

Rapids. She was united

in marriage to Curtis Michel.

Susan graduated from Kennedy High School in 1971. She was a co-owner of Dolan’s Bar and then went onto work at the Meth-Wick Community until her retirement. Susan enjoyed spending time with her husband at their cabin. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be forever remembered for her fun, loving, and humorous personality. She could tell the best stories! Her family and friends will miss her but will always remember her love.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Curtis; daughter, Doria (Scott) Andrews; grandchildren, Saxon (Rachel) Dolan and Brianna (Hunter) Kloubec; great grandchildren, Blakely Kloubec, Grayson Kloubec, and Kamden Dolan. Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Deloris ODean (Larry Kent); brothers-in-law, Dennis (Leslie) Michel and Dean Michel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Mae and James Gremmels, and William “Bill” Wright; and father-in-law, Chuck Michel.
