Susan E. Morey, 80, of Marion, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. There will be no service. A private family celebration of her life will take place instead. Her cremains will be joined with her husband and they will be laid to rest off the Pacific Coast.
Susan Eugenia Usher was born March 2, 1941, in Dillon, S.C., to John C. and Myrtle Usher. She was an only child. She married Fred Block, they later divorced. She married again to the love of her life, James Morey. During her life, she worked for Collins Radio. She managed Elaine Powers Fitness Center. She owned and operated a dog grooming business. And she worked in interior design. She loved her family, animals, playing golf, bowling, traveling and taking long rides with her husband in their Porsche.
She will forever be remembered for her gracefullness, class and her smile.
Survivors include her children, Sherry Sweeney of Bondurant, Iowa, Lance Block of Marion and Clay Block of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Michael and John; and great-grandchildren, Justin and Caroline,
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher; and her husband, James.
