Susan K. Leonard, 80, passed away at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.
A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
Susan was born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late John and Maxine (Hunter) Leonard. Susan graduated from Jefferson High School. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Marion. She retired in 2003 from Norwood Promotional Products where she served in Customer Service. She loved spending time with her close circle of friends and did so any chance she got. She enjoyed going to casinos. She loved all animals, especially her own and her nephew’s animals as well.
Those left the cherish Susan’s memory are her nephews, Steve (Nancy) Hess of Marion, Iowa, and Robert “Bob” (Veronica) Hess of Gardner, Kan.; and her great-nephews, Matt (Lacey) Hess, Kyle (Kelly) Hess, and Zachary (Emily) Hess. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sandra Wilt.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Oldorf Hospice House for the love and support they showed Susan, while she was in their care.
