Susan J. Freese, 63, of Springville, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at her mother's home in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Springville Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dave Snyder will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Survivors include a daughter, Monica (Ryan) Hanson of Boone; a son, Brian of Nevada, Iowa; her mother, Rose Schwichtenberg of Cedar Rapids; as well as many close friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Sue was born on Sept. 27, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Howard and Rose Light Schwichtenberg. She worked at St. Luke's Hospital for 15 years and most recently at OB-GYN Associates for over 20 years.
Sue was an active, faithful member of the Springville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed adventures with her mother, trips with her friends throughout the United States and had a great love and compassion for animals. She was a wonderful daughter, mother and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or Last Hope Animal Rescue in Sue's name.
