Susan G. Schulte (Mrs. Max Taylor), 68, of Whitewater and Franklin, Wis., left embodiment on
July 4, 2018, in her Whitewater home.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, a daughter of Harold C. and Marie A. (Bigge) Schulte. Susan was the eighth of 13 children growing up on the family farm south of Watkins, Iowa. She married Max Taylor on April 22, 2012. They made their home in Whitewater. Max left embodiment on Aug. 5, 2016.
Susan was an analytical thinker and teacher of many things. Her passion was to share her insights with others. She enjoyed nature, reading, taking walks and visiting with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family dogs. She was a loving mother of three daughters, Leigh Anne (Steve) Kohls, Annalea Madison and Kendra (Tyler) Bittner. She cared deeply for her family with her daughters always in the forefront of her thoughts.
Susan is further survived by three grandchildren, Anna and Isaac Kohls and Madison Grindall; stepson, Mark (Jill) Williams of Flagstaff, Ariz.; three step-grandchildren, Ian, Mallery and Lindsay; 11 siblings, Arnold, Cedar Rapids, Cecilia (Wayne) Becker, Marshalltown, Janice Tranberry, Plymouth, Minn., Vincent (Karen), Norway, Annabel (Walt) Oakley, Libertyville, Ill., Francis, Amana, Harold Jr. (Renate), Amana, Christine Volz, Cedar Rapids, Jolene (Frank) Randall, Ames, Brenda (Tim) Kapucian, Keystone, and Valerie Schulte, Phoenix; sister-in-law, SueAnn Schulte, Phoenix; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Alan R. Schulte.
A memorial mass for Susan will be officiated with Father Craig Steimel as celebrant at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21. Susan's family will receive condolences at 10 a.m. Susan's cremains will be interred at St. Michael's Cemetery following the Mass.
