Susan Dayle Conway, 74, passed away on the evening of Jan. 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Church at Covington. A memorial luncheon in her honor will follow. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation is serving the family.
Susan is survived by her husband, Larry; four children, Margaret “Renee,” Shaun, Dominique, and Shavonda Conway; eight grandchildren, Margaret Stutzman, Grace Conway, Brennlyn Stutzman, Conway Stutzman, Noah Conway, Cael Stutzman, Brent Conway, and Brooklyn Conway.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Kahler Gregerson; son, Brent; and son-in-law, Brian Stutzman.
Susan is the loving daughter of Howard and Margaret Kahler and a native of Palo. She graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 1966. Susan was the compassionate mother to three sons, Brent, Shaun, and Dominique, and two daughters, Margaret and Shavonda. She spent her life affectionately caring for others by working in a nursing home, providing daycare, and helping friends and family become better people.
Susan cherished being a mother to several foster children and to the children she provided daycare for. She fervidly enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball, listening to music, rearranging and redecorating the house, and gardening. Susan will be missed by her friends and family.
