Sullivan, Lavina M.

  Lavina M. Sullivan, 92, of Evergreen Estates, formerly of 1449 Second St. SE, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, from complications of old age. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors include a son, Terry (Annette), and a daughter, Connie Varner, both of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and a granddaughter, Debbie.

Lavina was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Benton County, the daughter of Martin and Sadie Carl Newman. She married Ralph L. Sullivan on Dec. 23, 1945, in Rock Island, Ill. He died in 1993. Lavina was a housekeeper for many years and worked for several Cedar Rapids families. She enjoyed playing bingo and had a great love for animals, especially her dogs.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
