Sue Thompson Reisetter, 68, of Cedar Rapds, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023. Sue's celebration of life will be held in the spring.
She is survived by her children, Zachary, Logan, Wyatt; sisters, Jacque and Tonda; biological mother Mary White, biological brother Dennis Stastny, and loving parents David and Edna Thompson., and friends Candi Croy, Leigh Sutter, and Tracy Scheib.
Sue was born May 8, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Mary Stastny White. She was adopted by David M and Edna M Thompson at the age of 6 months old. She grew up as an only child and wouldn't meet her biological sisters until 1980. She was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson Senior High School in Cedar Rapids and a 1976 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids. Working as a Registered Nurse, she spent one year in urology and the remainder of her career was spent in drug and alcohol abuse and Psychiatric Nursing. She was forced to leave nursing in 2009 due to medical reasons after a 34-year career. She was married to Norman D Reisetter from May of 1990 to December of 2010. She loved swimming, golf, boating, gardening, and volunteering with local animal rescue groups.
Sue was a kind, caring, considerate, and loving person whose greatest joys were her sons Zachary, Logan, and Wyatt, pets, and Nevaeh Duve.
Memorial funds be made to Critter Crusades of Cedar Rapids, P.O. Box 10111, Cedar Rapids, IA 52410, whose goal is to raise money for the medical needs for shelter pets.
