Sue A. Gouchee, 83,
of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at her home. Funeral Mass: 9 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Christopher Podhajsky will officiate. Inurnment at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include her children, Lance (Tabitha Overturf) Gouchee, Amy (Randy) Crawford and Chad Gouchee, all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Donna Kubicek of Joplin, Mo., and Helen (Al) Rogers of Osage. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Connor and Luke Gradoville and Erica Gouchee, as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Green; husband, Floyd; grandson, Chandler Gouchee; and two brothers.
Sue was born on Oct. 5, 1932, in Mitchell County, the daughter of Marjorie Green. She graduated from Dubuque Cosmetology School and was the owner and operator of several salons in Cedar Rapids. She retired after more than 50 years of service. She married Floyd E. "Chic" Gouchee on July 25, 1964, in Cedar Rapids. Chic passed away in 2014.
Sue was a faithful and active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was very talented with all kinds of crafts. She was especially noted for her creating beautiful bouquets out of buttons. Sue was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Unity Point Hospice in Sue's name.
