Suck, Albert William

Albert William Suck, 88, a resident of Crestview Acres, Marion, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. The funeral service, visitation and burial will be private family events and will be by invitation only.

   Survivors include a son, William (Heather)Chandler Suck of Marion; two daughters, Janet Watkins of Marion and Virginia Suck of Woodward; three grandchildren, William, Lisa and Darcy; three great-grandchildren, Kourtney, Katlynn and Kaydain; and two brothers, Henry Suck of La Porte City, Iowa, and Kenneth Suck of Omaha, Neb.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, and a sister, Elizabeth.

Albert was born June 7, 1921, the son of John and Katherine (Banse) Suck, in Garrison, Iowa. He married Margaret Downing on Sept. 11, 1948, in Vinton, Iowa. She died Oct. 6, 1982. Albert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at Pennick & Ford for many years.
