Stutt, Ronnie E.
Ronnie E. Stutt, 54, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Ellery Dykeman will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Surviving are six children, Melissa (Nate) Carstensen, Oxford Junction, Ben Stutt, Cedar Rapids, Lucas Stutt, Elizabeth “Buffy” (Jason) Clark, Jennifer Stutt and special friend, Kyle Smyth and Erin (Bob) Dietz, all of Monticello; three grandchildren, Tristen and Malcolm Clark and Beckett Dietz; two sisters, Sandra (Larry) Jensen, Center Junction, and Donna (Steve) Leytem, Monticello; and his mother- and father in-law, Dorrean and Bill Bohlken, Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
Ronnie E. Stutt was born April 5, 1959, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Louis and Catherine Brady Stutt. Ron graduated from Monticello Community Schools with the class of 1977. He then started working for Gettler Drywall. Ron married Laurie Bohlken on March 31, 1979, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. In 1980, he went to work as a correctional officer at the Anamosa State Penitentiary, where he was still working at the time of his death. He continued to do small dry wall jobs on the side.
His great love was spending time with his kids. He coached softball, baseball and basketball in the Monticello Community Schools for many seasons. He loved watching the Packers and just being a dad and grandpa.
